A few minutes in a chair at the Carisma clinic in Floriana or in Swieqi, early in the day and ideally fasting, because testosterone peaks in the morning and an afternoon sample can read low on a man whose levels are perfectly normal. From that draw on, you are dealing in facts rather than feelings. On the testosterone pathway the doctor arranges your morning blood panel. The laboratory prices and charges that separately: it is not part of the consultation fee and it is not one of ours.

When your results are back, a doctor registered with the Medical Council of Malta goes through them with you on video, next to what you wrote about your symptoms and your history. A number on its own settles nothing. A number read against your age, your sleep and your history is an answer. Sometimes that answer is no plan at all, and you will hear why.

What A Blood Test Can And Cannot Tell You
Low energy has many parents, which is exactly why the honest first step is measurement rather than a plan. Plenty of men who book this check turn out to have perfectly normal testosterone, and learning that is a result rather than money wasted.
What the check can tell you
- Your testosterone level, measured from a morning draw, when it is at its highest and most reliable
- What that number means for a man your age, read next to your symptoms, your sleep, your training and your history
- Whether the level is low enough to matter clinically, or simply lower than you were hoping

What it cannot tell you
- Why you feel flat, on its own. Low mood, broken sleep, stress, thyroid problems and simply being run down all produce these same symptoms, and each one needs its own answer
- Anything reliable from an afternoon sample. Levels fall through the day, which is why your appointment is a morning one
- Whether treatment is right for you. That is a clinical judgement a doctor makes with you, from the number and the whole picture together, never from the number alone
- Anything that would justify a plan when your levels come back normal. That result is common here, and it ends in an answer rather than a prescription
- Anything at all if what you want is a normal level pushed higher. We measure deficiencies, not ambitions
- Anything for anyone under 18, or for anyone outside Malta and Gozo

How do I know if my testosterone is actually low?
You cannot, from symptoms alone. Tiredness, low drive and flat mood overlap with half of modern life. The blood panel answers it with a number, and your doctor reads that number in context: your age, your symptoms, your history. That is the whole reason we test first.

Where does the blood test happen?
At our clinic in Floriana or in Swieqi, whichever is easier for you, in the morning, when levels are most reliable. The draw takes minutes, and everything else happens on your phone.
What if my results come back normal?
Then you have learned something true about yourself, which is more than most men can say about their energy. We tell you plainly and point you toward the likelier causes: sleep, stress, thyroid, iron, mood. No plan gets sold to a man who does not need one.
What would treatment actually involve?
That is a conversation for you and your doctor once your results are in. EU rules do not allow prescription medicines to be advertised to the public, and we follow them, which is one way you can tell a medical service from a pill site. What we can say: any care is doctor-led and reviewed with you rather than left to run. If the doctor prescribes after your results, the prescription is emailed to you straight after the call and you collect it at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo. Any repeat blood work is a laboratory cost in its own right, the same as the first panel, never folded into a fee of ours. One consultation at a time.
